Algorfa: A town on the banks of the River Segura, to the south of Almoradi, Algorfa has about 4,000 inhabitants and is perhaps best known for its La Finca golf course. Alicante: The capital city for this part of the Comunidad de Valencia, Alicante is the 2nd largest city in the region with a population of 334,000. A historic city and port, Alicante is overlooked by the huge Santa Barbara Castle. Almoradi: A largish town which is just inland from the Costa Blanca coast, Almoradi has a population of almost 20,000 and is well known for its production of furniture. Whilst in Almoradi you could visit the Iglesia de San Andres church, the Teatro Cortes theatre, the Casino and the Old Hospital.
Altea: Situated on the Costa Blanca coast between Benidorm and Calpe, the town and resort of Altea is famous for its blue domed church the Nuestra Señora del Consuelo. Altea is the Costa Blanca's artist capital with many workshops and galleries scattered throughout the town. Aspe: A town between Elche and Novelda, inland from Santa Pola and Alicante, Aspe is a decent sized town with a population of about 19,000. Aspe is an agricultural town with some light industry such as shoemaking and textiles. In Aspe visit the Nuestro de Señora Socorro church, the Historical Museum, the Castillo del Rio and the Casino.
