Figueres Teatre-Museu Dali: The Dalí Theatre-Museum is located in the Plaza Gala-Salvador Dalí, number 5, in Figueres (Figueras), Catalonia, Spain. The museum is devoted entirely to the painter Salvador Dalí. It is managed by the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation. The artist left in his will a large number of works of art, which were divided between the museum and the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid.

The artist personally took charge of the museum project, so much so that within the complex is the last room and his tomb. As suggested by the name, the building that houses the museum has something to do with a theatre which was built in 1849. In 1939, during the Spanish Civil War, it was destroyed by fire, which left only the structure of what had been a beautiful neoclassical building. The transformation into a museum was carried out by Ramon Guardiola Rovina, an art lover lawyer who became the mayor of Figueres in 1960. The Mayor of Figueres thought it strange that the town had not done anything for its illustrious son, and invited the artist to give a painting to the local museum. Dalí was willing to donate an entire museum, and suggested using the theatre, then destroyed and abandoned. This theate in Figueres had a special meaning for Dali, he had exhibited his first two plays there in the year 1918 during an exhibition of painting.
