Pilar de la Horadada Spain: The small town of Pilar de la Horadada is in the Vega Baja district of the Alicante province (Comunidad de Valencia), its population is 22,555 (2010) and its municipal area 78.10 square kilometres.
The picture on this page was taken by myself in 2010 when we made a brief visit to the town on our way to Campoverde. The photo is of the town's parish church the Nuestra Señora del Pilar, which is a modern church, only constructed in 1981.
Pilar de la Horadada is close to where we live and we have had reasons to visit for various reasons, not least the small private cinema where films are shown in English (due to the sizeable British expat community), entry was just 5 euro. Unfortunately I believe that the cinema is now closed, which is a great shame and another facility lost to the community.
