Polperro Cornwall United Kingdom

Polperro Cornwall: A pretty fishing village which lies on the River Pol in south-east Cornwall, Polperro is a picturesque place which attracts many visitors to the area. The village has a population of just over 5,000 and its proximity to the larger resort of Looe makes it a popular destination for holidaymakers.

Narrow streets and lanes are packed with white-washed fishermen's cottages in this memorable village which you should not miss visiting if you are nearby.

Polperro's blackest day was in 1824 when a great storm destroyed over 50 vessels in the harbour and also damaged many buildings.

Polperro is a four mile drive from Looe and a twenty four mile drive from St Austell.
