Swanage Dorset: Above is a splendid picture overlooking the beach and part of the town of Swanage in Dorset. Though perhaps not as popular as it once was during the 1950's and 1960's, Swanage still attracts many holidaymakers during the summer months when the weather is at its best. Aside of its popularity as a seaside resort Swanage is on a beautiful part of the Dorset coastline and attracts hikers, walkers and fossil hunters.
I spent many happy days in Swanage as a boy and it was a regular destination for family summer holidays in my youth, I remember staying in a flat beside the Ocean Bay Cafe as it was then known. I called back for a visit in the 1990's and found it mostly unchanged from how I remembered it.
